I'm feeling pretty happy today! A couple of christmas presents for various people came in today so I've this productive thing going on. I got my Revoltech in the mail and she's so cute! She comes apart really easy which takes some getting used to, but her accessories are what have really sold me on her. She came with a chicken hand puppet. A chicken hand puppet. How incredibly ridiculous and awesome is that!??? Someday when I have a camera again, I will take pics of this silliness(Mark's batteries are dead in his so I can use it at the moment either :3 )

I also got mini Basch and mini Penelo figures from Final Fantasy XII which is my personal favorite of the series. This itty bitty Basch is the only toy version of him anywhere which makes so sense because he's just manly video game yumminess incarnate. But I'll take what I can get!

Also....I'm kinda really loving Dal Ende. Just when I think I'm happy with all my Groove/Jun Planning girls....the perfect evil bitch comes along making me question my collection once again. *sigh*

So I mentioned to Yuuki recently that I really ought to sit down and try out One Piece. Last night I had some time to kill while Mark watched sports(bleh) so I popped on over to my favorite movie site and watched the first two episodes. They were really cute! Luffy made me smile and giggle! Of course it was a bit cheesy, but I like cheesy so it worked for me! I don't really care for pink haired navy boy though...he kinda annoyed me. But the other crew members are pretty cool so far.

I also watched the first two episodes of Lucky Star. As cute as One Piece was....I was giggling nonstop at the girl of Lucky Star. Most of it was the inane chatter and antics of teenage girls, but I've had conversations like the ones they had and it cracked me up! I can't wait to watch some more ^_^

It was probably pointless to post such a short entry but I wanted Yuuki to know that I watched her show and liked it a lot, and that if any of you are bored you might give Lucky Stars a shot because it's pretty damn cute!

Collecting Crisis

I think I'm having what I would consider to be my midlife crisis of collecting.

My energies are spread out every which way and I can't figure out what I want to do. I've thought a lot about my dolls. I love the pullips and dals that I have, and although many of the new releases are appealing, I don't feel like I have to have any (with the exception of the dumbo byul...B.E.!!!) It's already been pretty obvious that I'd lost my interest in the pullip community a while back, so there's not much to keep me tied into the online fandom for them.

Then there's my adoration for bjds. I have my Tania Perriot(newly named Penelo) and Puki Ruby (soon to be Magpie) on the way. I still really want to have Iple's Amy someday, and maybe one more tiny, either Leeke's Bijou or another puki. But really, I don't feel like I belong to the bjd community either. I've been a member of DOA since 2007 and still haven't made the minimum number of posts needed to gain marketplace privileges if that's any indicator of how active I am there. I've made a few half-hearted attempts to join in the threads, but it feels forced and fake to talk to the people there, so I just can't bring myself to do it.

I've been branching out and just buying little things that catch my eye. Today I paid for a preorder for a Hatsune Miku nendoroid. I have a Fraulein Revoltech Futami Ami on it's way to me. I have plans for several other things that are just too cute to pass up on. My interests are so spread out though, because it's not a devotion to a particular brand or anime or video game. I'm not sure what to do with myself. Because of all this, I feel out of touch with the friends I've made through doll collecting. Maybe I should bust out a camera and try to take some pics to perk myself up, but that makes me feel...meh...too.

But I had my GameStop interview today and it went really well. Her exact words at the end of the interview were, "We're making the calls to let people know they have second interviews this weekend but of course you already have a second interview. We'll call you to schedule it..."

I had her laughing, we're both neat freaks about work, and I'm cute as a button, what's not to love!? haha...but seriously, it went well and I'm really happy right now ^_^

To the newest member of the working force!!! Oglebay Resort hired me today as a catering assistant. My boss is a really nice lady, the hours are whatever I want them to be, and the job is very low stress! W00T!!! Oh and I get gratuity on top of my wages. I'm a very happy bear!

I still have an interview with GameStop on Thursday. I'm going to go to it and talk to them to see if they could work with my schedule at Oglebay because I'd love to have the perks that come with working there. YAY!!!!!

I love when a plan comes together B)

I am the worst mover in the world. I accidentally left all kinds of stuff at my uncle's and back in Las Vegas! Including my camera *sobs* So I'm going through photography withdrawl.

My mom has mostly recovered as far as I know. Her hemoglobin was creeping back up and she's back at work anyways which are both good signs. I am in Wheeling, WV now....so if any of you live in Pittsburgh or the tri-state area...hi neighbor! I've begun searching for a job. I'm really nervous about finding one. Taking care of my dad for the last 5yrs or so has left my work history looking a little spotty. I'm afraid no one will take a chance on hiring me :/ Cross your fingers for me though!

Don't think I've mentioned this but I'm seeing Mark, my high school sweetheart, again. It's weird dating someone I was in love with 8yrs ago. We're both very different people now, but at the same time, we know each other really well so it's not uncomfortable. We had a long talk about what went wrong before(the whole me not thinking I was important to him thing). Things couldn't be more different now. I see him every minute he's not at the hospital...and he's a lot more vocal and affectionate with me these days. So far it's really nice. I still have moments where I miss Todd, but being away from him is opening my eyes up to things he said and did which were actually very not okay. Anyways, Mark is making me pretty happy!

On the dolly front, well obviously I have no pictures to post without my camera. I've been paying more attention to Ursa, my Melize, lately. She's been keeping me company in the living room. I've developed a list of bjds that I'd really love to have someday. I just mentioned to technocolordoll that I'm wanting Iplehouse's JID Amy. Yep, the dreaming one. She's actually inspired a story idea with Tania-Perriot for me. I'm still fleshing it out, but I'm really excited about it. Other dolls I'm looking at:

Rosette School for Dolls (I want all of them but primarily Fir)
Angell Studio Pink Cinderella
OR Peaks Woods Goldie

I have a character in mind that could either be Cinderella or Goldie. Cinderella embodies the character but Goldie would be the very next best representation of her....a very hedonistic beauty.

Getting ready to leave in a couple days! I am so sick of packing!! I'm trying to fit everything I own into my 2000 Ford Contour and leave room for me, my mom, and my sister and their bags. Pretty much impossible....I'm more than a little annoyed with my sister because she was offered a plane ticket so she could get there early, but she chose to ride with us so she could bitch about how we're not going to be in WV in time for her to celebrate the 4th of July with her guy there. So not only is she taking up room in my car, but she's going to be unpleasant about it, too :/

Also, you ever just take an unreasonable dislike to someone? I wrote a friendly pm to this girl on one of the forums months ago, and she completely ignored me. Now every time she posts one of her long opinionated messages, I get the urge to contradict her, regardless of whether or not I agree. She's never done anything to me besides ignore my attempt to compliment her and start a friendly dialogue. But I really get urges to piss her off for the lulz. Wow, I am petty! You guys still love me though, right??

For two hours tonight, I thought I could possibly end up with a new pullip. VOTD released a pre-order for "Lala", a limited edition 300 USA exclusive for Comic Con...being a lover of all things nerd, I thought she'd be right up my ally. Then disappointment struck:

Ok so granted she's got that nice $70 price tag...but with tights and shoes that are basically the same as Xiao Fan's, a face-up like Fantastic Alice...I dunno. I was just really bummed. And she has nothing to do with Comic Con! I might regret not buying her if her price shoots up, but as of right now, I'm happy I did not buy.

When I was a teenager, I became obsessed with American McGee's Alice. It was dark and morbid and haunting and I LOVED it. There has been talk for around 8yrs about making a movie version, and at one point Wes Craven was thinking about doing it. But then Tim Burton picked it up ^_^ and now we have an all-star cast making my dark wonderland!!!

Easter this year was really fun at my house, because my mom went for "Baskets of the Weird".

I've been on DOA for about a week straight looking through galleries and galleries, links and links....swimming through beautiful and not so beautiful dolls. I had my eyes on Volks SD Sara Renewal...and then Peak's Woods Goldie...but all paled in comparison to the beauty I picked.

Meet the girl that will someday become my first BJD:

I know she's an odd pick for a first doll, but I'm finding that I'm drawn to the ones that are a little on the different side. Not waaaay out there like Soom, but definitely unusual. The user-pics I checked out confirmed that she comes looking exactly the same as in her promo pictures. It'll be a blast putting funky wigs on her and trying to make her other perriot-esque outfits. I already know I'm going to need another doll, someone more traditional looking, but since Tania (or Tinka as I'll name her) is limited, she will get first priority. Iplehouse has seriously won me over. The male dolls are SO sexy and ripped! I'll need one of those someday too xP

And thanks to Yuuki and the selling myself to my mom as her personal masseuse/slave...I have 1/3 of her cost already!

I really want a BJD. I really have no monies. I'm thinking about unloading a vast majority of my dolls so that I can afford one. I've been looking seriously at Peak's Goldie and Angell Studio's Cinderella. I was taking a look at my own collection, to decide who I could part with, and surprisingly, I felt like I could get rid of half of them. The possible cut:

1. Lily the Zombuki (well this is more wishful thinking...I don't think anyone would buy her in truth :/ )
2. Another Clock Rabbit with her stock
3. Coral nude
4. Crazzia nude with her SB medium bust body and hands
5. Happy Harbor Blythe
6. Cinciallegra nude
7. Melize with her stock
8. rewigged Haute LA nude

I know it seems like a harsh cut, but my pullip and dal collection as is leaves several of my dolls neglected for months at a time. This would leave me with my MM, Chill, Stica, Sacralita, Oren, Jolie, Jouet, and Custom Cinna, which still almost feels like too many, but I'm too crazy about these girl to part with them just yet. I think if I had to, I could keep just Jolie, Jouet, Stica, and MM and be happy. We'll see though ^_^

So Todd got a call this morning. The army accepted his warrant officer packet. HE'S GOING TO BE A HELICOPTER PILOT!!!!! We don't have all the details yet, except that he'll be in Alabama for months of school at some point. I cried I was so happy for him.

Also! I got my Sacralita from burntbao today, and she is looooooove! I'll take pics and introduce her to you guys later. She's my birthday present from Mom and Todd. I had already bought her stock off Kat a while back so now I have her complete. Super exciting.....super awesome day!

Oh! and right now I'm in 3rd place for the MIB contest. I still have a week of voting to survive, but it's the place I'd prefer, so cross your fingers. mafiaprinces5 's Fred made it into the top 10 as well with a scandalously fabulous picture as well...so if you don't like my MM, tell your friends to vote for Fred!
